Dalbit Petroleum Kenya has partnered with the Alliance High School and the Alliance Girls High School to raise funds towards scholarships for needy students in the two schools.
Dalbit Petroleum has donated Ksh2 million towards the endowment fund for the two schools.
“We are proud to be associated with this noble cause that steps in to ensure that needy but bright students are not disadvantaged because of their backgrounds,” said Group Managing Director Margaret Mbaka when she handed over the Cheque.
Speaking during a joint alumni dinner for the two schools, Ms. Mbaka an old girl of the Alliance Girls High School, challenged the professionals to supplement the financial support with mentorship programmes for the students so as to develop an all rounded person for the future.
“In our days, mentoring was taken as an important personal duty particularly by the Alliance Schools alumni communities. Many of the old boys and girls who had passed through the schools would regularly and diligently spare considerable resources and time to guide us through various aspects of life,” she noted.
